Abstract

The software process improvement (SPI) requires advanced for quantitative process management, so that, from the analysis of relevant indicators in the organization can facilitate decision-making for such improvement techniques. Within the set of techniques deserves special attention the Statistical Process Control (SPC) has been gaining acceptance in companies that are prepared to achieve high levels of maturity in their processes and implement programs that require measurement. By identifying the most appropriate methods to apply Statistical Process Control have demonstrated the critical issues that can recognize the specific areas where the metrics and data can critically influence the implementation and performance of SPC techniques, these aspects show the initial efforts before you actually start using SPC as an effective strategy to improve and quantitative management of software processes.
