Characterization of a virtual space for the management of knowledge in education through ICT

Abstract
This article describes GeCET (Virtual Space for knowledge management in education through Information
and Communication Technologies (ICT), where the objective was to determine the characteristics required for the
implementation of virtual spaces of this type in the community of Cordoba on the use of TIC applied to education based
on the design of a prototype, for this it was necessary to identify the main issues around information management in TIC
of the city of Monteria, define strategies of appropriation and participation by teachers of secondary education and of
computer science students, developing the prototype of a platform to manage knowledge iteratively and incrementally,
by co-creation or participatory design, under a methodology of qualitative approach with an Action-Research design,
that is, with a process of continuous improvement through 3 cycles of 4 phases, allowing to show the advances that can
be achieved by achieving communication with the educational community in a way that points in the same direction,
resulting in a participatory way the characteristics that should have a virtual space capable of managing knowledge in
education through Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the community Cordovan and from the design
of a prototype.
